When Strangers Click

When Strangers Click

http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/when-strangers-click
Yes this is a title of a great documentary; it is also a great discussion in my real life yesterday…and all days.
The documentary describes a film about several peoples’ experience of finding mates on the Internet. It is not, however, your typical story of miraculous and strange love, nor catfish experiences. It is a great film about real relationships. People who find each other by design or accident, and connect on levels that we all have the ability and fortune to connect on but somehow miss the opportunities as they are presenting themselves.

TedX: Vienna is doing a series all about connection! "I share therefore I am"

I had a great day yesterday, volunteering as a bar tender at the Moose. It happened to be the day of several different birthdays that were celebrated at the lodge. I got to talk with my mom on Skype which I haven’t been able to do in more than a year, and she got to reconnect with a friend she met when she last visited me. What were the chances that that friend would be in town, at the lodge, on that day? The chances were typical if you really, really stay present to what the Universe brings to the table of “the reason we are here.” There is no purpose in life more important than connecting with others, in my opinion.

One of the birthdays being celebrated came at the end of my day when just before closing a trio came in. One amazing man who looks 30 years younger than he is, his birthday girl friend, and their mutual friend Lisa. Lisa was the connection the Universe presented to me in this moment. A stunning woman who is “full”…of everything! Wearing a G O R G E O U S black blouse that reflected her personality, Lisa is textured, smooth, luxurious, and historically stylish in both look and experience. Lisa has an excellent sense of business, and love of art and jewelry. She’s been designing jewelry almost her whole life and we may get together on a local proposal.

Continuing with the theme of connection, have you ever met someone that you instantly connect with? Last night I got to spend time with one of my favorite girlfriends. She’s a bar tender but last night we got to sit together on the customer side. We met 8 years ago when she complimented my jewelry and it has been love ever since. A new friend I met about a month ago, I call him “tickleman” because of his deep, vibrating voice, was also at the club last night…it seems we only go when the other is going (without planning!) I made some new friends there too, both from the Philippines, one a special ed teacher of moderate to severe students; I introduced him to my favorite video on autism by Amanda Baggs. The first part of the video is in her "native" language; then she translates it for us...she's absolutely brilliant....I am humbled.

Last night’s connections may turn out to be significant, and with some don’t seem like “connections” because they are long standing friendships. However, the Universe wants us to know that the “new” does not have to wear off of everything; our perceptions and willingness are the fabric softeners of life, making anything fresh if we chose. So go out with a renewed perception and be willing to see the connections that exist in your life and the new ones you will surely encounter on your intentional journey to connect. Life cannot be lived without your presence…without your connection.

There is no God…now that I’ve said it, that’s all right with Her!

It has been close to a year it seems since I've written. Now I have a lap top again, and I'm excited to be back! And the timing couldn't be better. Merry Christmas to you all, and if you do nothing else today, have a conversation about whatever...just talk and see what your mind opens up. Miracles are possible if you have faith!

There is no God…now that I’ve said it, that’s all right with Her!

Looking at the wish bones on the window sill while doing dishes this Christmas morning, I give a thought to my son and I wish for him…

Happiness and prosperity, no prosperity from happiness,…

No, just happiness…and faith, no not faith in God, blind  faith…

No, blind faith…no, I want him to be so aware of what the Universe provides that he shares it with others…

OMG I’m going to be in trouble for thinking these thoughts…no…wait…

God    does   not   need   the credit…..God    is    God………..

“Isaac! I just had an epiphany!”, I say before I share my train of thought (verbatim) with my son. And we continue the thoughtful journey. WE are God….God is real and gave us a “push” but we choose the direction. Together we are powerful and can create miracles…or we can hurt each other….it is the choice given to us. But without US, God does not exist, and God is so powerful and secure that God does not need need to be named as the creditor of our deeds any more than Satan for our sins. WE alone, yet together, are responsible for the conditions of heaven or hell on the Earth. But, what about Jesus? What really happened there.

OMG, another epiphany….why was Jesus killed? Why is any man killed by another? Jesus was not killed so that we would be forgiven for our sins…Jesus was killed to cover up the sins of his persecutor.  Think about it, think about the innocent man sentenced to death…someone…SOME ONE… knows he is  innocent but says nothing….why? Because the persecutor is guilty and does not want to be exposed and defending an innocent man will point the finger at guilt at himself.  W O W…Jesus was not crucified so that we may be forgiven, but rather so that we would not be aware of the truth of the prosecutor. Oh Em Gee!

So, Isaac says, “And God is a woman. Think about it. Imagine that I’m angry at you and want nothing more to do with you and I go on in my life to do amazing things like cure cancer. You will be watching me, you will be proud of me. You will love me despite my not accepting you. I do not have to believe in you, but you will still love me. God is a mother.”  “Yes!”, I reply, “And the Church is the father, setting the rules, having expectations, The Father, the pastor the priest…all men”.  And who but a woman, or one of a motherly, or purely loving heart, would easily give up the glory of love to another’s credit…because that kind of love does not need “ownership rights.”

God is a woman, Her love is free, abundant, and the easiest choice we can make. It is important on this, and every day, that we realize not that Jesus died on the cross, but that Mary his mother, and Magdalene his lover, wept, not just for him, but for all of those hanged that day. And they prayed, not to God but to the world, and all of the future of it, that this pain and suffering should never be known by another again. And it is their tears, not the blood of Jesus that anointed the Earth.

And while we are it, we can see that that the rising of Jesus was not proof that he was the son of God, but instead a promise that love will save the world from the pain of loss. It is THAT love that resurrects the human spirit, on Christmas, on Easter, and any day we choose to give it. It is only in the giving that Love is CREATED.

I am blessed to have had this conversation on this special day. I pray to you that you are blessed with such communion this and every day of the year!

Permission as a Strategy

Courtesy LeonieDawson.com
Something  is calling me today to write about permission. Perhaps it is because I'm focused on giving it to myself.

While doing The Desire Map program by Danille LaPorte I've been focused on what I desire, what I deep down want to feel as a result of whatever it is I do. A lot of how I want to feel is about what I DON'T want to feel, or what I'm avoiding feeling. My remedy is two-fold: 1) identify what I want to feel more of 2) ask myself in any given moment "How do I want to feel?"

Danielle asked "Is your focus on being happy, or is your focus on not being unhappy?" Abraham talks about "vibration", and states, "You can't help but experience contrast, so you can't help but ask...You've got to be a vibrational match to what you're asking for." I find this concept really easy to understand with the statement "Worry is praying for what you don't want."

When my answer to how I want to feel doesn't quite work or results in an answer that does not vibrate with what I want (in other words the answer is about how I do not want to feel), then I recognize that I need to find something that works. Without consciously doing it, I've learned to give myself permission to feel the way I want to feel; I'm just today recognizing the new strategy.

The new strategy is working for me in many areas of my life, especially when I'm not confident. I am spiting my negative feelings. I am giving myself permission to apply for jobs I would love to do though I don't feel "credentialed" for; I have looked more deeply at my qualifying life-experience and have been interviewed. I am giving myself permission to make beads and jewelry because I want to not because I'm trying to make money; I made some really nice beads that gave me, and show in the results my feelings of joy, creativity, and freedom. I'm giving myself permission to have faith that the Universe will provide what I need, when I need it; yesterday someone bought one of my pieces of jewelry without using a discount code!

A song that just occurred to me, Do It (Till Your Satisfied).

Right now I'm working on a necklace with a new technique for wire work. I've also listed some jewelry I made last week. Making jewelry is not as profitable as making beads (though where is the profit really if I keep everything :) ?), but I gave myself permission to have fun and be creative! Here are some pics of the new jewelry; if you want more details please visit my shop here

(Necklace is not yet listed)

Great Deals and Fun Tutorials!

I think today is a day for lightness. I found great deals and fun tutorials to share with you.

Get 5 eBooks for $7.40!
Have you heard of Bundle of the Week? Every week is a new topic and you can buy a bundle of five different ebooks on that topic. I LOVE that idea. This week the topic is Paleo as in a way of eating. More and more people are interested in "getting off the grid" as much as possible. People see the value in sustaining a wholesome and healthy life through energy efficiency and savings, growing their own food, creating their own textiles, and believing through sustainable living we will survive this difficult time in history, like our greats and grandparents did! And how our ancestors ate is what a Paleo Diet is all about. Paleo diets are based on fruit, vegetables, nuts, and meats. For those people who are sensitive to gluten, this diet is a very healthy way of eating.

This bundle includes the following ebooks:

  • The Paleo Miracle by Joe Salama
  • The Paleo Snack Recipe Book by Suzanne Crawt
  • Eating Out and Traveling on the Paleo Diet by Aglaée Jacobs
  • Toadally Primal Smoothies by Primal Toad
  • Paleo Ice Cream by Ben Hirshberg

There are Infinte Choices

Img landomisfittoys.blogspot.com
I've been feeling so stuck in indecision. What do I want to do? How do I want to get it done? What do I really love doing? What do I really need to do?  All these questions have one thing deeply in common; they assume that only one choice can be made. Do you get my meaning?

Img rtstockimages.photoshelter.com
I believe it is important to have faith that what I need will be provided. I believe it is important to have gratitude for what has been provided. But there are things that get in the way of my living life according to those beliefs. I get stuck thinking that all my good blessings are going to go away. I get stuck thinking that if I make the wrong decision, that will be "the end." This is a "scarcity" mind set.

Image www.360nobs.com
This unhealthy train of thought runs through so many aspects of my life. It runs through the way I make beads; don't use that "special" glass because they don't make it anymore or they won't have it when I need it or I won't be able to afford more if I run out. It runs through the way I look for work; don't apply for this job because if I get it I won't be able to accept the other job I already applied for. I can't think of one instance that this way of thinking has served me positively.

Img tallhilda.blogspot.com
So, I've been working on getting "unstuck". I've made a couple of declarations this week in my attempt to get out of the desert while I'm on stilts. I'm not sure how helpful the declarations will be, but I KNOW that they will not be the last declarations I ever make. And if declarations are the way to get unstuck, and these don't work, then there are others that can be made.

I have faith that I've been given an opportunity in this moment, and I am grateful for it, and I will make a choice to move forward, now, with full confidence in my abilities. I believe in me!

Img transformnowbutterfly.blogspot.com
I desire abundance! I declare that I have enough, and I want more! I have enough time to do what I want to do. I have enough talent to do what I want to do. I have enough love to give and receive. I have enough money to pay the rent on time, and the rest of the bills late. I have enough sun and water to grow my plants. I have enough bacon to make several sandwiches. I have chips and a huge jar of pickles to go with said sandwich. I have enough cd's to create a disc with a fix for that computer. I have enough drive to do it and enough intelligence and savy to do it. I want more, and I am vibrating at a frequency that matches ALL that is in the vortex, waiting for me!!!!

WeDesire WeDnesday: Desire Map

In December, 2012, I began reading The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte. I first noticed Danielle in 2009 when she was writing a blog called White Hot Truth. That title perfectly describes the authenticity with which Danielle speaks. From there she introduced Your Big Beautiful Book Plan, then The Fire Starter Sessions, and now she has gifted the world (sounds mushy I know but the love I feel for her work warrants mushiness!) with The Desire Map.

The Desire Map is a holistic approach to planning your life. It guides you to identify your core desired feelings, and to use those feelings as the drivers of what you want to do, have and experience in your life.
It turns goal-setting inside out.
The Desire Map is a multimedia program. It comes with a PRINTED book (it’s embossed, even!) a downloadable book, audio book, a series of audio contemplations; a private, online Desire Map space; an app, and 12 weeks of weekly inspiration to help people make desire-mapping a true practice.

If you haven't already read my posts about the Desire Map, let me share with you that it is a new way of thinking for me; it is a way of making decisions and "goals with soul". The premise is that we are conditioned to make decisions and goals based on what we think we will feel when we achieve them. The Desire Map makes one aware that they can feel that way right now; it helps me realize that what I think I will feel later, I can feel now, if I make "how I want to feel now" a priority. Instead of waiting to feel whole and complete I can feel that way now and along the way to my goals, by doing the things that make me feel that way.

Here; I'll let Danielle tell you

Friday, May 24, is Danielle's birthday. Her gift to you is a "pay what you can" day for The Desire Map program. With the program you receive a paper copy of the book and access online to the digital download, music play lists, weekly support emails from Danielle, and some other nice goodies. There is even a support group on Facebook that you can check out right now; you don't have to own The Desire Map to join the group (it is a public group) so check it out here. You can also play this audio; it is a reading by Danielle of her introductory chapter of the book!

Don't worry that it's a gimmick (it's not.) Don't worry that you will be obligated to buy more (everything you need is in one package.) Don't worry that what you can pay is not enough (it is.) You know you found this post today for a reason; believe in it.

Wouldn't it feel good to feel good about everything you decide to do? Decide to accept Danielle's gift and get your blessing; pay what you can. CLICK HERE to get your blessing.

Tubes Tuesday: Deception

"The Woman Who Wasn't There" (2012) is a documentary film about one of those people who lie about everything. Tania Head wasn't there. She was not a survivor. She was not in the twin towers. She was not married or engaged to "Dave". She didn't have a dog. She wasn't a friend. Whether she was really nice is in question.

Memecenter.com
Tania Head did a lot of nice things for a lot of truly nice people who were truly nice survivors and family of survivors of what has become known as "9-11". She did it all as what cyberspace calls a "troll." She rubbed elbows with the mayor and got the gates of ground zero open to the WTC survivors group; she also influenced the board members of the group to dethrone the groups founder. She didn't do anything illegal though; she didn't sign papers or gain money. However she raped the emotions of a lot of people who loved her and cared about her because they believed her. I've never heard of such an extreme example of selfishness; however sociopaths are not capable of selfishness because they are not capable of identifying with others.

Like anyone else who watches this film or hears this story, the questions beg an answer: Why? What did she have to gain?

The way this film tells the story is excellent. The story is almost incredible. That people can do such a thing is so disheartening, almost as much so as the tragedy that Tania Head so much wanted to be a part of.
